DOP ( CAS No. 117-81-7) is the abbreviation of Dioctyl phthalate, also known as Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate.
The abbreviation code for plasticizers is clearly defined in the national standard GB/T 1844.3 "Plastic symbols and abbreviations part 3: plasticizers", in the "Synthetic Materials Additives Handbook", "Plastic Auxiliary Manual", The Handbook of Plastic and Rubber Processing Aids, the Encyclopedia of Chemical Industry, and the Encyclopedia of China Chemical Products are all described in the books. If it refers to a plasticizer, DEHA is DOA, DEHP or DOP. Why DEHA and DEHP can be well known to the public, the former began in October 2005 with the PVC cling film storm, the latter in the May 2011 Taiwan "plasticizer event."

Abbreviations or codes consisting of several English letters have their specific scope in use, otherwise they cannot determine their true meaning, such as DOS, in the plasticizer industry, "dioctyl sebacate", and in the computer industry "Disk Operating System."
